Fourth (postganglionic motor) innervate sphincter pupillae via short ciliary nerves.These fibers pass through the inferior division of the oculomotor nerve. Third (preganglionic motor) connects the Edinger-Westphal nucleus to the ciliary ganglion.This consensual light reflex results in an almost similar amount of pupillary constriction since pupillomotor output to both the eyes is the same. Thus uniocular light stimulus evokes bilateral pupillary constriction. ![]()
